Understand the work.
Find your starting point.
You do not need to choose a treatment method before reaching out. Tell us what has been difficult and what you would like to change. Your clinician will discuss options with you, drawing on their training, your needs, and your preferences.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Explore the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions. Sessions may include noticing patterns, trying a different response, and practicing between appointments.
Paul & JoshuaDBT skills & approaches
Practice skills for handling strong emotions, tolerating distress, staying present, and communicating needs. Ask your clinician how these skills fit your care; skills-based sessions do not describe a comprehensive DBT program.
Paul & JoshuaMotivational Interviewing
Talk through mixed feelings about change without pressure. Your clinician helps you explore your own reasons, priorities, and next steps.
Paul & JoshuaMindfulness & somatic awareness
Notice present-moment thoughts, emotions, and body sensations. Discuss grounding and awareness exercises with Paul, including what feels comfortable and when to pause.
PaulSolution-focused work
Identify a manageable goal, recognize times a problem has been less intense, and explore a small step you can try.
PaulStrengths-based & person-centered care
Start with your perspective, existing abilities, and priorities. You and your clinician discuss goals together, rather than assuming the same plan fits everyone.
Discuss with your clinicianTrauma-informed care
Care takes account of difficult experiences and your sense of safety. You can ask about pacing, choices, and how trauma-related concerns will be addressed.
Paul & JoshuaBrainspotting-informed techniques
Joshua lists Brainspotting-informed techniques among his approaches. Ask him what these involve, how they might fit your goals, and what other options are available.
JoshuaAnother way to receive support.
Nichole offers support for grief and life transitions. Sessions may include expressive arts, guided imagery, music, reflection, and practical goal setting. These services do not include mental health diagnosis or treatment. Ask us about the difference between grief coaching and clinical therapy.
A plan you can talk about.
Ask what an approach involves, how progress will be reviewed, and what you can do if something does not feel helpful. Your clinician can explain which methods they offer and discuss adjustments as your needs change.
